Christopher Lewis

Founder, Managing Director

Chris Lewis is the Founder of Greenwood Capital Advisors. At Greenwood, Chris oversees both the Investment Banking and Corporate Finance Advisory functions. Beyond developing relationships with key centers of influence and clients, Chris leverages his background in corporate finance and investment banking to provide key strategic advice to founders and institutional investors across the middle market. He brings 15 years of investment banking and finance experience and has extensive experience in advising and executing liquidity and acquisition facilities, mergers and acquisitions, recapitalizations, and debt & equity raises.

Prior to founding Greenwood with his partners, Chris was the Managing Director for Investment Banking at Addicus Capital Advisors. As a senior investment banker, Chris developed and executed corporate-level strategy to gain market share within the firm’s desired footprint. Prior to joining Addicus, Chris was the Managing Director & Regional Head for the Southeast US at Greenwich Capital Group.

Chris set the foundation for his career on Wall Street, where he held executive positions for some of the biggest investment banks in the world. Chris was a Director at ABN AMRO Bank N.V., where he delivered M&A advisory, capital markets, and structured debt solutions for clients. Prior to ABN AMRO, Chris was a Senior Vice President at MUFG in their Industrials coverage team, where he was responsible for advising C-suite and senior management on strategic and financing solutions, including M&A, public capital markets, private placements, and structured financing products.

Chris began his career at GE Capital and Citi in Associate positions. At GE Capital, Chris was trained extensively in Credit Risk Management. At Citi, Chris developed key skills in modeling, creating marketing documents, and other core investment banking skills. Chris firmly believes in a comprehensive view of transactions. By leveraging his credit risk training with an investment banking growth mindset, Chris is able to provide clients with accurate and balanced advice.

Chris has executed transactions in excess of $25 billion over the course of his career. He obtained a dual JD/MBA from Vanderbilt University Law School and Vanderbilt University – Owen Graduate School of Management, respectively.

Patrick H. Johnson is a renowned health care executive and business leader, know for his innovative contributions to healthcare and strategic community investments. As a key member of Nashville’s Coronavirus Task Force, he led initiatives for mass testing and community assessment centers. Formerly a senior VP at Meharry Medical College, he now advocates for health equity and is a founder of the Nashville Baseball Investment Group.

Benny Word

Benny Word joined Collier Engineering in 2007. As a Senior Project Manager, Benny’s focus has been on municipal projects in Nashville, Tennessee. As the Metro Public Works Neighborhood Traffic Calming Program Manager, he has worked with over three hundred neighborhood associations in Nashville, attending neighborhood meetings and advising their members and constituents on traffic calming measures available for their area through Metro Public Works of Nashville and Davidson County. Benny also acts as a liaison to the Metro Council members of Nashville and Davidson County to help them promptly respond to their constituents on traffic matters that may directly affect the area or neighborhood that they represent.

Benny’s enduring client relationships and exceptional ability to coordinate with multiple agencies ensure the success of any project. His experience and professionalism keep municipal projects running smoothly.

With the Metro Public Works Sidewalk Improvement Program, Benny has overseen project implementation, reporting, and direction of the program to the Mayor’s Office. He also directs projects and priorities in conjunction with and is directed by the Metro Public Works Sidewalk Program Manager and other staff. He is heavily involved with ADA compliance and utility coordination. Benny routinely handles sensitive correspondence with Metro Council members and their constituents and conducts public meetings concerning this program’s direction and issues.
